The article is centred on financing of Czech countryside and agriculture from EU funds. After joining the EU, the Czech agriculture became part of the system which is characterized by strong supporting policy. The stage of joining EU was defined by applying the simplified way of providing direct payments (SAPS) and by grossing up of direct payments from national sources. The total amount of support in Czech agribusiness increased almost by half and direct payments more than four times. In the period of years 2004-2006 was the general content of support 30.5 milliard CZK. In term of support sources in these period 56% presented EU sources and 44% were national supports. Important resources were acquired within Euro projects from structural funds and its share in development of Czech countryside and agriculture was notable as it was 2 317 222 thousands CZK (the period of years 2005 till 2006). Improving the quality of living in rural areas and encouragement of production diversification became a priority in national and strategic development of Czech strategic programme for years 2007-2013. An increased volume of direct payments and its optimal structure of arrangement will contribute to further growth of its efficiency and effectiveness in Czech agribusiness. It is significant instrument and factor which helps the Czech farmers to gain the level of farmers from former states of EU-15.
