Study on effect of spacing on growth and yield of head lettuce on highland was conducted on December 2000 to August 2001, at Pangda Royal Project, Samerng district, Chiang Mai province. The results showed that the spacing gave a significantly effects on the growth and yield of lettuce c.v. Fame, during winter, summer and rainy season. The spacing 45*60 cm and 60*60 cm with 2 or 3 rows per bed gave higher number of leaf, head size and weight per plant than 25*25 cm and 30*30 cm. But, at 25*25 cm and 30*30 cm with 3 or 4 rows per bed gave highest yield.
