Effect of some soil herbicides on the vegetative habits of Prunus avium seedlings
2008
Rankova, Z., Institute of Fruit Growing, Plovdiv (Bulgaria)
he influence of the soil herbicides napropamid, pendimethalin, terbacil, пetolachlore, linuron, oxyfluorofen, oxadiargyl and Isoxaflutol on the vegetative habits of Prunus avium seedlings under controlled conditions in sand culture and model pot trial with soil (alluvial-meadow) is investigated. Under the conditions of the sand culture a strong phytotoxicity, expressed in blocking of the germination of seeds and drying of the germinated plants after the application of the soil herbicides, included in the investigation is established. Under the conditions of the model pot trial initial symptoms of phytotoxicity and depressing of the growth of the seedlings after treatment with napropamid are not observed. The application of isoxaflutol leads to white chlorosis in the plants leaves, but the phytotoxity is overcomed 40 days after the treatment and no inhibiting of the vegetative habits is observed. Depressing influence over the development of the seedlings after treatment with pendimethalin is established. The active substances шerbacil, пetolachlore, вinuron, дxyfluorofen and дxadiargyl have strong phytotoxic influence over the Prunus avium seedlings, expressed in drying of plants under the conditions of the model pot trial.
