SUMMARY The study was carried out in the experimental base of the Agricultural Institute in Stara Zagora. The objective of this study was to analyze the paraclinical indices in the blood of 23 healthy animals of the Thracian merino breed divided into two groups depending on the level of their productivity. The selection traits live weight, wool productivity, staple length and fertility were studied. At the end of the study blood samples were taken from v.jugularis for analyses of the paraclinical indicies – Ca, P, creatinin, blood glucose, total protein, triglycerides, alkaline phosphates, cholesterol, albumin, red blood cells counts, haematocrit, mean corpuscular volume, white blood cells counts, hemoglobin, and hormones -TSH, FT4. It was obtained that the higher productivity of the Thracian merino sheep was closely related with the higher content of calcium, albumin, cholesterol, and the higher values of the hematologic parameters and thyroxin in the blood. The results suggested that the general metabolism correlatеd with higher productivity
