Polymerase chain reactions for detection and differentiation of Coxiella burneti and Rickettsia SPP

PCR-methods for detection, identification and differentiation of Coxiella burnetii strain and Rickettsia strains, are adapted. The method of normal PCR was appropriate for differentiation to the species level of a microorganism, but it was inappropriate for differentiation within the species belonging to one genus.The obtained DNA-products for Coxiella had a size of 260bp, and 590 bp for Rickettsia spp.
