Study on serological activity of O-polysaccaride from brucellae (Brucella abortus) with a view to improve the serological diagnosics of swine brucellosis

Our aim was to get adequate amount highly purified and specific sublimate against antibodies in infected with brucella O-polysaccharide of B. abortus animals and to test comparatively the serological activity and specificity of LPS and O-PS of B. abortus in swine sera with natural Brucella infection. The following study determined that OPS of B. abortus 99 showed high specificity against swine sera with natural Brucella infection. Immunodiffusion test with OPS of B. abortus 99 were useful in detection of active swine infection, but were less sensitive that other tests performed in the study.
