[Radioactive contamination of ecosystems of Mogilev region]
2008
Mironchik, A.F.
Results of the long-term investigation of the formation and prognosis of radioactive state in the ecosystems of Mogilev region of the Republic of Belarus, radionuclide migration in soil, forest and field biogeocenoses, distribution and long-term dynamics of their accumulation by the agricultural products and woody plants were presented. Analysis of the radioactive situation on the arable areas including study of the natural radionuclides in the fertilizers and foodstuffs, radioactive substances in the agricultural products, soil contamination with Chernobyl emissions, contents of radioactive elements in plant and animal products was realized. Present state of the radioactive contamination of forests of the Republic of Belarus was analyzed by the study of the interspecies dynamics of 137Cs and 90Sr accumulation by the main woody species, mushrooms, berries, drug plants and wild animals, review of forest fires in the regions of radioactive contamination, state and perspectives of application of wood from the contaminated areas. Results of study of the surface waters radioactive contamination, water transmission of radioactive substances and their content level in fish were presented. Statistical data on the 137Cs and 90Sr contamination level of the arable areas, perspectives of depth transmission of the radioactive substances over the soil profile in the Republic of Belarus were presented and analysed. Reference data on the areas brought out of the agricultural use, level of 137Cs content in milk produced on the contaminated territories were stated
