Research results of the selection and toxicological evaluation of three compositions of the active antagonistic strains of lactic-acid bacteria for the treatment of subclinic mastitis of cows were presented. Data on the toxicological characteristic of new antimastitis preparation Laktosan developed in the Republic of Belarus were presented. The analyzed preparation was developed from milk whey by means of lactic-acid bacteria cultivation and produced in two forms – liquid and frozen-dried which were identical by their composition, colony-forming unit content and antagonistic activity. Composition of the analyzed probiotic drug in maximum permissible dose did not exercise irritant (oedema, hyperaemia, scratches, increasing of skin local temperature, fissures or ulceration) and sensibilizing (allergenic) action on body of the laboratory animals. Skin applications of preparation on skin and eye mucous membranes (in course of 14 days) did not cause irritant effect. As a result of probiotic acute toxicologic activity analysis there were stated no signs of toxic action (excitation, oppression, thirst, emesis, drooling, visible insult, tremor, cramp, paralysis,)
