[Substantiation of terms of repair of open conducting network depending on the duration of flooding of the reclaimed agricultural lands]

The technique for construction of the typical hydrographs of spring and rain floods was presented. The proposed method was recommended for usage for the substantiation of frequency of routine and major repairs of the hydraulically designed canals in watercourse analogues. In addition, for the small canals first of all it was necessary to evaluate the influence of the larger canals (including the receiving basins in the conditions of bed siltation and weediness) exercised upon them. For the consideration of the backwater effect in the conditions of conveying capacity damages it was necessary to evaluate the reciprocal action of water levels in water courses of different degrees on the hydrological regime of adjacent arable areas. The effect of the tested conveyance on the duration of the flood and impoundment of agricultural lands, delay of performing the spring field works, harvesting conditions, and terms of winter crops sowing which made conditions for agricultural production damages were determined by the hydrological calculations. The conveying capacity was determined by the ordinary methods of hydraulics. It was recommended to determine the characteristic of water regime causing the damages by means of the design hydrographs constructed over the watercourse analogues of regional belonging with the long-term periods of observations after performing the reclamation constructions. The proposed approach made it possible to maximally take into account the local conditions and divert from the sophisticated calculations of the unsteady movement of water in canals. The presented model could be recommended for the design of the composite hydrographs of minor streams belonging to the watercourse analogues
