[Growth and fruiting manner of new cherry and sweet cherry varieties]

Growth peculiarities, crown structure, longevity, fruit-wood arrangement at trees of 12 cherry and sweet cherry variety samples singled out by the complex of economic and useful characters were studied. According to the research results on the strongly full grown stock of wild cherry, all studied cherry varieties were classified to the group of strongly full grown ones and all studied sweet cherry varieties to the group of the average growth vigor. Pyramidal crown shape prevails at the majority of the studied varieties. It is necessary to enlarge the destination between trees in a row up to 4 m under growing of sweet cherry varieties such as Naslazhdeniye, Fatezh, cherry samples 37/122, Volochaevka and Rovesnitsa. Bigger part of fruit formations at cherry and sweet cherry varieties is located at 2 and 3 year old wood where there is basic part of yield. Two year old branches are covered stronger with fruit-wood which becomes overgrown. With years biofouling diminishes and branches being of 5 year old become bare significantly. Longevity of bouquet branches at promising sweet cherry varieties is higher than at cherry ones. New varieties such as Vityaz and Medunitsa have the most lasting bouquet branches. At these varieties fruit formations older than 3 years old make more than 30%
