[Rose bengal induced photo-oxidation processes in tobacco (Nicotiana tabacum) plants transformed by sense gene of ascorbate peroxidase]

Revelation of the peculiar features of the photooxidation processes induced by the rose bengal sensibilizator in tobacco (Nicotiana tabacum) plants with the overexpression of ascorbate peroxidase was realized. Results of studies of the accumulation of oxygen active forms, chlorophyll and carotinoid photodegradation, changes of cell membranes permeability for the electrolytes and free nucleotides in leaves of transgenic tobacco plants in the conditions of rose bengal sensibilizator presence were presented. It was shown, that tobacco plants transformed by sense gene of ascorbate peroxidase were more resistant to photooxidative stress induced by rose bengal sensibilizator in comparison with the wild type. At the same time, the transformant plants were characterized by the lower degree of photosynthetic pigments (chlorophylls and carotinoids) destruction and less expressed destruction of the barrier properties of cell membranes that proved the presence of the increased resistance of transformants to the photo-dynamic action. It was assumed that plants transformed by the ascorbate peroxidase sense gene could be more resistant to any type of the oxidative stress, which could cause the hydrogen peroxide accumulation in plant cells
