Description of the collection of the subfossil relics of the archeological monument of Streshin castle (XII – XIV centuries) situated on the bank of the Dnepr river in the Republic of Belarus was presented. The comparative analysis of the obtained data with the modern data on species composition and age structure of fish in the Dnepr river was realized. The species composition of fish of the Streshin castle determined according to the subfossil relics of fish scale and bones numbered 24 species belonging to 4 classes. It was established, that the basic commercial species of fish of the studied area were perch (Perca fluviatilis L.) (42,4% from the general number of revealed species), carp bream (Abramis Brama L.)
