Research of the reasons of changes of aquatic warbler (Acrocephalus paludicola) population density in the conditions of the lowland bog characterized by the depauperated diet conditions of the Republic of Belarus was realized. In course of all years of the realized research (1996-2005) the monitoring of aquatic warbler density showed that their population depended on the water level. The average number of aquatic warblers was 1200-1500 animals that comprised nearly 14% of the whole Belarusian and 8% of the whole European populations. The density of singing males at Dikoe mesotrophic fen bogs was stable and relatively low in comparison with other Belarusian bogs that could be resulted from the lower general biological productivity. At the stage of the first clutch the average number of male aquatic warblers was 47,1 +/- 3,86 males/square km, at the stage of the second clutch – 35,1+/- 7,21 males/square km. The density of breeding females at the stage of the first clutch was 11,3 +/- 3,76 females/square km, and 1,7 +/- 0,33 females/square km at the stage of the second clutch. In course of the research there were revealed the following factors defining the density and number of aquatic warbler species: weediness of open bogs with bushes; fluctuations of water level during the breeding season; vegetation producing capacity
