Spanish; Castilian. Los fitonematodos se consideran como el enemigo invisible del agricultor, debido a que sus principales afectaciones se presentan en las partes subterráneas de las plantas. Puede considerarse que la ciencia de la nematología es relativamente joven en Cuba. La evolución y desarrollo del manejo de los nematodos no puede analizarse aislado del desarrollo mismo de la especialidad en el país. En este trabajo se describen las etapas por las que transitó esta ciencia desde sus inicios hasta hoy. Se destacan los resultados de manejo más importantes cosechados por los especialistas en los diferentes cultivos.
Show more [+] Less [-]English. Phytonematodes are considered like the invisible enemy of farmers, because their main affectations appear in the underground parts of the plants. It can be considered that the science of Nematología is relatively young in Cuba, the evolution and development of nematodes management cannot be analyzed isolated of the proper development of the specialty in the country. The stages by which this science passed from its beginnings to the present time are described in this work. More important results of management obtained by Cuban specialists in the different cultures are emphasized.
