Citrus overview of the European Union-15 and Turkey
2008
Fidan, H.,University of Ankara (Turkey). Dept. of Agricultural Economics
Citrus production in Turkish provides approximately 42% of the export value in the total fruit sector. The majority of the export goes to the EU market. The prices in Turkey depend on the supply and demand, which causes seasonal price fluctuations. As a result of incorrect policies and lack of support from the Turkish government, the citrus sector has started to show severe signs of weakness and the productivity and quality of citrus has decreased.
