The economics of milk production and consumption in Egypt

Milk production is very important as an immediate farm Income so, milk considered a main resource for food industry. Egypt has an advantage of milk production but production is still low and local consumption not covered. This study was conducted to determine how Egypt consume such food and focus the economical roles of its production. Study used a time sires of F.A.O. from 1990 to 2003, and analyzed to confirm that, Egypt importing different kind of industrial milk products like milk whey, and dry casein, concentrated and, evaporated milk, Self sufficient ratio is gone to be 98.5% of milk whole, 90.28% of milk excluded butter, and around 87.77% of skimmed milk. Heads number of cows are greater than buffalos. This is a corruption occurs in price system of milk, as former consider their price of buffalo milk, in the time he products cow milk, and even price misrepresent the real value of milk, specially the differences between cow and Buffalo mi lk, then price system gone to be more corrupted. Finally, a statement could written like that price must real represent the true value and reflect differences between milk kind and farmer have to consider the price of what he produce.
