Drought as stress factor and its role in spruce (Picea abies /L./ Karst) dieback

We present the results of ecophysiological monitoring (chlorophyll a fluorescence measurements, assimilatory pigments concentration, needles water potential) of spruce forest stands under drought stress in the Kysucke Beskydy Mts., Slovak Republic. Our results showed that the influence of water deficit on the general dieback of spruce forests in the studied area was very low.
