Fifty-nine rams were used in order to determine the effect of herd, breed (Bohemia Forest, Wallachia sheep), age, semen density and semen extender on the sperm volume, activity and number of insemination doses produced. Some significant effects of the factors studied were determined. Thus, a significant difference between breeds was determined in the case of insemination doses produced. The lowest decrease in sperm activity after dilution was detected in the group of the youngest rams (less than 36 months of age). The highest results of sperm activity were observed in semen with a high or very high level of density, while the lowest values of these traits were measured in semen with a medium level of density.
