To determine the reproductive status of RBC by visual observation and rectal palpation has some limitations. Thus, monitoring milk P4 can help to improve reproductive efficiency and economic benefits. Percentage of pregnancy rates was statistically insignificant (P0.05). The percentage of P4 levels were significant on days 0, and 7 (P0.05) but insignificant on day 14 (P0.05). RPT and RIA results of the oestrous cows on the breeding day were 66.66,94.44 respectively. These results indicate that in this study the RPT performed in milk samples taken on the day of breeding would not be an accurate indicator of heat detection. the data of the present study revealed that application of detecting skim milk P4 levels by detectingwhole milk P4 levels by RPT for determining reproductive statusof RBC.
