Correlation analysis revealed that seed yield was positively and significantly correlated with number of tillers/plant, length of panicle, days to maturity, test weight and number of grains /panicle. Number of tillers/ plant had maximum positive direct effect on seed yield and positive indirect effect via length of panicle, days to maturity and number of grains/ panicle. The present study revealed the importance of tillers /plant, length of panicle, 1000-seed weight and number of grains/panicle for yield improvement in paddy.
