The evaluation of rapeseed-mustard germplasm against Alternaria blight and white rust revealed the presence of stable and wide range genetic variability for white rust resistance. Analysis of variance for genotypes showed narrow genetic base for Alternaria blight resistance. Six genotypes, namely, EC 338997, PBN 200 I, EC 339000, PBN 2002 and DOS I of Brassica napus and PBC 9921 of B. carinala were found resistant against white rust. Among these, one genotype PBN 2001 also showed moderate susceptibility against Alternaria blight. So, it may be exploited in resistance breeding for both the diseases.
