To study the effect of nitrogen and phosphorus on seed yield, oil yield and quality of Canola, gobhi sarson (Brassica napus L.), a field experiment was conducted at Oilseed Research Farm, PAU, Ludhiana. Seed yield of 22.71 q/ha was obtained with 125 kg N/ha which was at par with 150 kg N/ha but significantly higher than 100 kg N/ha. Oil content decreased, whereas protein content increased with each successive increment of nitrogen levels. The maximum oil yield was obtained with application of 125 kg N/ha. Erucic acid content did not exceed 2 percent with successive increment in nitrogen levels. The seed and oil yield remained unaffected with phosphorus application.
