Sharma, I.J., College of Veterinary Sciences , Jabalpur (India)
It was observed that incidence of sub clinical ketosis in cows as well as buffaloes was 9 and that of clinical ketosis is lower in cows. Number of protozoa and fungi in the rumen fluid of sub-clinical ketosis bovines goes up in order to reduce the bacterial population in rumen fluid. It was recommended that during the 3rd trimester of pregnancy, the feeding of animals should be optimum and too much of silage be avoided. The animals, however, be fed with adequate carbohydrate rich diet.
