The implementation of the pilot to facilitate two-way communication of rural extension workers is in the continuation of the &ldquoStudy of factors affecting the two-way communication of rural extension workers, the case of Freidan-Esfahan&rdquo. In the current pilot, 27 rural extension workers were elected by rural people in 27 villages and from the outset, participatory education and communication was emphasized among the research group, development workers and with rural extension workers. One of the main objectives of this project is to present a participatory model for facilitating of two-way communication via training of rural elected extension workers. The main methodology employed in this study is participatory action research, one of the most important characteristics of which is education impact on all stakeholders, including the research group, officials, rural extension workers & the rural beneficiaries. Having employed this methodology, attitudinal changes for facilitating two-way communication became possible for all involved. One of the main outcomes of this inquiry shows that facilitating authentic popular participation at the grassroots level is not separated from participation among state relevant functionaries. In this pilot, the duties, characteristics, needs and problems of rural extension workers were also examined.
