Effect of different level of industrial potassium choride and ammoniumchloride in diets on performance of broilers under heat stress conditions

An experiment was conducted to study the use of industrial potassium chloride (PC) and ammonium chloride (AC) in grower and finisher broiler diet as moderator of natural cyclic heat stress (23-41°C) in Qom province. This trial was carried out in random complete design with twelve treatments and four replicates (48 experimental units) in which 19 male broiler were reared on the litter. All broiler in first 21 days of rearing were considered as a whole, and then sorted and transferred to pens. Drinking water and basic ration were completely similar and then PC and AC added to basal ration. Experimental diets were as follows: Control group without any PC or AC, rations No 2-5 contain 0.6, 0.7, 0.8 & 0.9 percent industrial PC, No 6 contain 0.7 percent highly purified PC, No 7-11 contain 0.3, 0.4, 0.5, 0.6 & 0.7 percent industrial AC and No 12 contain 0.5 percent highly purified AC. Criteria measured included weekly feed consumption, gain, feed conversion ratio, carcass percentage, different part percentage of carcass (include thigh, breast and liver) and chemical component percentage of carcass (include dry matter, ash, crude protein and ether extract). In whole period of this experiment, feed consumption and gain of control group was numerically lower than other experimental groups, and in broilers receiving diet include 0.9% PC were respectively 16% and 15.6% significantly greater than control group (p 0.05). So increasing 0.9% PC in grower and finisher diets of heat stressed broilers were the best treatment in this trial.
