Evaluation of quantitative and qualitative characters of advanced clones of true potato seed progenies in Ardabil
2007
Hasan Panah, Davud
A research was done for evaluation of 12 advanced clones and better cultivars in Agriculture and Natural Resources of Ardabil station in 2005 and 2006 years. Five clones of them had produced from TPS progenies in 2000 year. Six cultivars called as Satina, Sante, Ceaser, Almera, Atlas and Banba were better cultivars from 2000 to 2003 years. Control cultivar was Agria. Experimental design was Completely Randomized Block design in three replications. These characters measured in growth period were: number of main stem per plant, plant height, number and weight of tuber per plant, number and weight of tuber in size of smaller than 35mm, between 35-55mm, and bigger than 55mm. Then total tuber yield, marketable tuber yield, dry matter percent, color of chips and french fries, and storage shortage rate were noted after harvesting. Combined ANOVA showed significant differences between genotypes for total tuber yield, marketable tuber yield, plant height, number of main stem per plant, number and weight of tuber per plant, number and weight of tuber in size of smaller than 35mm, between 35-55mm and bigger than 55mm. Camparision means of treatment showed that Sante, Almera, Banba and ATZIMBA×TPS-67-8 clone had the highest total and marketable tuber yield, weight of tuber per plant, and number and weight of tuber in size of 35-55mm. Sante and Agria had the most dry matter percent, very slightly yellow color in chips and french fries. Storage shortage rate was lower in Ceaser, Almera, and Banba relative to Agria (Control). Total tuber yield had positive and significant correlation with marketable tuber yield, weight of tuber per plant, number and weight of tuber in size of 35-55mm.
