Development of display technology of produce information based on POS system

The system which utilizes produce information effectively was developed based on the POS system for farmers' shops. By scanning item barcodes, the POS system conveys a SEICA item number to the display terminal. The display terminal accesses to the SEICA database on the Internet and download produce information which was identified with SEICA item number. This flow makes it possible for consumers to see the produce information of their purchase when checking. In addition, the printing system of item barcode label with QR code, which enables consumers to access produce information was developed. A finger-print recognition device was also introduced to control personal barcode labels easily and safely. This system achieved both sales management and accountability of produce at the same time.
