Characteristics of nutrient ingredients in compost produced in Yamaguchi prefecture and method for estimating the substitute value
2007
Watanabe, T.(Yamaguchi-ken. Agricultural Experiment Station (Japan))
The present study was conducted to clarify the characteristics of nutrient ingredients of compost produced in Yamaguchi prefecture and to determine the method for estimating the substitute value of the nutrient ingredients available in compost. The findings of the study indicate that the value of nutrient ingredients in compost produced in Yamaguchi prefecture was less than that in compost produced in other prefectures. Two types of composts were prepared, such as compost including woody materials and compost without woody materials. The substitute values of the composts can be estimated by using different methods. The substitute values of phosphorus and potassium in compost were about 80% and 90%, respectively.
