This study was conducted to obtain data for breeding top rice variety by comparing grain quality characteristics of domestic varieties to exotic varieties in two different cultivation region, southern plain(Iksan) and southern mountainous (Unbong). All the varieties were cultivated by each standard cultivation method and low nitrogen application in two regions. There wasn't different grain quality between the standard varieties bred in Korea and exotic varieties, but early maturing varieties in the exotic varieties were higher degree of white core and belly than the Unkwangbyeo.
