The promotion paper has been worked out at the Wood Processing department of the Forest Faculty of LUA, at the Forest and Wood product Research and Development Institute and with the support of the Latvian Forest Industry Federation. The aim of the scientific work: to work out the methodology of the analysis of wood resources demand and consumption, based on the simulation model. The following tasks have been set to achieve the aim of the work: (1) identifying and characterizing the wood resources consumption sectors; (2) research on world experience in the modelling of processes of forest sector; (3) research on the influencing factors of the flow of wood resources and their interaction; (4) elaboration of the algorithm of the analysis of the flow of wood resources; (5) elaboration of the methodology of the analysis of the interactive demand and consumption of the flow of wood resources.

Promocijas darbs izstrādāts Latvijas Lauksaimniecības universitātes Meža fakultātes Kokapstrādes katedrā, Meža un koksnes produktu pētniecības un attīstības institūtā un ar Latvijas Kokrūpniecības federācijas atbalstu. Zinātniskā darba mērķis: izstrādāt koksnes resursu pieprasījuma un patēriņa analīzes metodiku bāzētu uz simulācijas modeli. Darba mērķa sasniegšanai ir izvirzīti šādi darba uzdevumi: 1. koksnes resursu patēriņa sektoru apzināšana un raksturojums; 2. pasaules pieredzes izpēte meža nozares procesu modelēšanā; 3. koksnes resursu plūsmas ietekmējošo faktoru un to mijiedarbības izpēte; 4. koksnes resursu plūsmas analīzes algoritma izstrāde; 5. koksnes resursu plūsmas interaktīva pieprasījuma un patēriņa analīzes metodikas izstrāde.
