In the research it was found that depending on the daily milk yield in the conditions of loose housing system and self-service, the cows with the live weight of approximately 600 kg consumed 26 - 38 kg of grass and corn silage, 1.5 - 2.5 kg of perennial grass hay, 2.7 - 3.4 kg of self-produced concentrates feed in the form of the total mixed ration but from the automatic feeding machines they received the granular mixed concentrate feed 1.0 - 3.4 kg in the milking stand and 0.9 - 8.8 kg - in the feed centres. Excluding concentrated feed from the total mixed ration, in the milking stand and in the feed centres its consumption considerably increased, but the total consumption of the fodder and concentrated feed decreased. As a result, more productive cows gave less milk and in dairy farming feed costs increased.
