Culms of kauayan tinik (Bambusa blumeana Schultes f.) were processed into woven flat sheets ('sawali') measuring 1 mm x 400 mm x 40 mm. These were formed into 2-ply and 3-ply corrugated bamboo sheets (CBS) using commercial phenol formaldehyde (PF) at varied gluing techniques. Internal bond (IB) and bending strength of the CBS samples were tested. Results showed that 3-ply CBS glued by dipping in PF at 43 percent resin content passed the minimum 1B values ( 3 kg/sq cm) required by the Indian Standard for bamboo mat board.
