Aim of this work was the assessment of presence GMOs in sample of corn and maize derived product in relation to cognizance taking part in market turn farmers and small food producers. In case of detection in screening analysis widely used regulatory transgenic elements, the construct-specific or event-specific methods for identification of maize line were applied. The quantification of GMO content was conducted using real-time PCR. In screening analyses presence of genetically modified DNA were detected in 30 percent samples. The identity of the PCR products were verified by restriction analysis. In most cases maize samples contained GMO sequences on the level 0.1-0.3 percent which is less then 0.9 percent, where labelling of products is mandatory according to UE regulation. Two of samples contained 2.0 and 7.9 percent GMO
