Economic efficiency of integrated and ecological beef production

This study gives production data and production costs for extensive (integrated and ecological) systems of young cattle breeding. Feed production systems were identified in the analysed farms. In 2005, the productivity of fattening cattle and the feed and non-feed costs were calculated. Total values were converted into unit values to evaluate production indicators and costs. These indicators are given per actual animal and per kg of final body weight. Unit indicators vary clearly according to the region as conformed by the research hypothesis that in each production system (especially in extensive fattening), costs vary according to the region
