The presented studies aimed at an increase of the microbiological stability of Mglavit carrier for ULV cold aerosol-fog applicators by the addition of appropriate preservation agents. This carrier has been developed in the Department of Plant Protection Methods, the Agricultural University in Poznan (Poland) in order to increase the efficacy of ULV cold aerosol application. Among the tested preservatives, the most useful was sodium benzoate. The addition of sodium benzoate in the amount of 80 mg per 1 litre of Mglavit carrier increased its stability by causing a complete bacteriostasis of sulphuric bacteria. Mglavit carrier with the addition of the preservative has proven to be effective in greenhouse plant protection by cold aerosol applications. It was found that the stability of the physical and chemical mixture of selected plant protection agents and Mglavit carrier with sodium benzoate, and a combination of the carrier without any addition of preservative was similar. At the same time, the preservative did not decrease the affectivity of the zoocide Sumi-Alpha 050 EC in the control of red spider mite (Tetranychus urticae Koch) in bean cultivation. The addition of sodium benzoate to Mglavit carrier did not cause any phytotoxic effect on studied ornamental plants either
