Considering various incentives for production and usage of biodiesel in 25 EU countries, and bearing in mind present requirements and limitations in Serbia, suggested in this paper are activities and measures to be taken in Serbia in order to introduce consumption of biodiesel on a wider scale. Incentives are needed to stimulate production of raw materials for biodiesel, production and distribution of biodiesel, situation on the market and treatment of consumers. Of special importance are education of trained personnel and creation of competent institutions for dissemination of information regarding the possibilities and advantages of modern usage of renewable energy resources, including biodiesel.
