Soybean is grown in most countries today on varying acreage. In the last couple of years, however, 90% of the world soybean production has been concentrated in only several countries. In the last decade, the acreage in NS soybean has been rising constantly, both when it comes to commercial crops and those grown for seed purposes. Soybean production can be increased not only by increasing the acreage but also by increasing yield per unit area. The productivity and hence profitability of soybean seed production depends on the genetic make-up of the variety. The objective of every grower, including the Institute of Field and Vegetable Crops in Novi Sad, Serbia, is to obtain its products in the most favourable.
