[Efficacy of some preparations on hysteropathy and mastopathy in sows]

In pig complexes experiments were performed to study therapeutic and prophylactic effectiveness of myxoferon, activin and metramag for MMA syndrome and endometritis of sows. The influence of myxoferon and activin on sows and suckling pigs, as well as rational time of prescribing metramag to prevent endometritis and MMA syndrome, as well as its therapeutic effect have been determined. Myxoferon in the amount of 20 doses per 2 heads, both separately, and in combination with activin allowed reducing the number of still-born pigs in the experimental groups by 0.3-0.4 head, the number of technological pigs increased by 0.3-0.8 head, as well their birth and weaning weights by 0.3-0.8 kg and 0.1-0.8 kg, respectively. The therapeutic efficacy of metramag at the dose of 0.5 ml/100 kg, intramuscularly, once a day to sows with MMA syndrome and acute purulent catarrhal endometritis was 100%. As is shown, in order to prevent stillbirth and postnatal diseases metramag should be administered for the first time for the first hour from the beginning of farrow, for the second time – after 24 h, and to prevent endometritis and MMA syndrome – for 12 h after farrow and again – after 24 h. Based on the results obtained, that testify high prophylactic and therapeutic efficacy of domestic preparations, they are recommended to be used for postnatal diseases - hysteropathy and mastopathy in sows
