Monitoring of pests connected with soybean provides for characteristic of soy¬bean as forage host crop. Botanical indication of wild (Glycine soja Sieb. et Zucc.) and cultivated (Glycine max (L.) Merrill) soybean, reaction of the crop on hydro - thermal soil conditions are presented in the catalogue; descriptions of morphological and eco¬nomic signs for machine processing of the materials. During vegetation the processes of germination, vegetative growth, reproduction of seeds and formation of nodules are singled out. Agroclimatic factors and photoperiodic reaction of soybean on the day length determine districts of cultivating of this leguminous crop in zone aspect: European part of the Russian Federation and the Far East, West Siberia, south of East Siberia, Altai. This catalogue includes 251 species of Arthropods available in Russia and fron¬tier countries. It is made with due regard for ability of Arthropods to propagate themselves in short space of time, in great amount and do harm to the field crops in changing agroclimatic conditions. In present issue Lipidoptera order takes up dominating position (40.2 %). In the Far East L. glycinivorella Mats., P. umbra Hufn., Ch. maritima Grasl. do the greatest harm to soybean, in the South of European part - E. zinckenella Tr., Ch. armigera Hbn., Ch. viriplaca Hufn. Coleoptera order (23.9 %) includes specialized soybean black strip beetle (P. suturalis Motsch.) - the beetles injure young growth, the larvae dwell in nitrogen — fixing soybean nodules. Soybean leaf eater (L. menetriesi Fald) passes on to soybean from wild plants. In all forming and experimental zones of soybean cultivating there is a great amount of species of Heteroptera order and pentatomid bugs are the most harmful. In the Russian Far East, China and Japan soybean root miner (O. shibatsuji Kato) and nodule fly (R. sphenisca Hendel) predominate among species of Diptera. In damp conditions seed - corn maggot fly (D. platura Mg.) injures swelling seeds and sprots
