2005
Mohammed, G.I., Agricultural Research and Technology Corporation, Gezira Research Station, Wad Medani (Sudan)
The proposed procedure deals with evaluation of the resistance of cotton stocks to Fusarum vascular wilt disease, under the glasshouse conditions. It emerged from Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. vasinfectum and further tested on work meant to develop new cotton cultivars. The essential basic information, such as the pathogenic races, inheritance and mechanism of resistance were reviewed. Factors that influence the outcomes of the test, e.g. inoculm, soil and method of inoculation etc... and the steps to be followed in using them were followed. Merits of the procedure that may justify the adoption in terms of authenticity and size of inoculum, econmy of time and material, precision and reproducibility of the results were highighted. A recommendation regarding the adoption of the proposed test procedure was requested
