The study was conducted in the Gezira State in 2004 and 2005 seasons, to quantify the incidence and intensity of the mealybug Planococcus citri (Risso) on citrus, and to determine the efficacy of the petroleum spray oil ”D-C Tron Plus” on the insect control. The results showed that, the pest was widely distributed throughout the Gezira State. The incidence ranged between 6.2% and 81.4% on lime and 25%-100% on grapefruit trees. Three doses of the ”D-C Tron Plus” 0.37%, 0.5% and 0.62% (v/v) were tested. All treatments control the pest significantly and increased the marketable yield in terms of fruits number and weight per tree. The highest dose, 0.625%, gave consistently and significantly the best results
