The polyfactorial field experiments with hulles barley (KM 1910) established in the dry corn production area of Slovakia after sugar beet and maize as preseding crops silage monitored the impact of conventional and minimalized tillage and different variants of fertilization (with and without Humixu applications) in dependence on weather conditions during the year on the amount of harvested grain. In the years of low yield (2005 and 2007) during the critical growth stages of hulles barley the hydrotermic coefficient values were low (from 0.0008 to 0.620). The effect of tillage on the amount of yield was influenced by the year and preceding crop. In the climatically less favorable year, and after sugar beet, the yield was statistically proved as the highest (4.57 t per ha) in the interactional operation of conventional tillage (A) with the divided dose of nitrogen fertilized up to the fertility level of 60 kg per ha N (DASA application + Humix, respectively DAM + Humix), the variant of fertilization (c). After maize for silage there were statistically insignificant higher yields after minimalized tillage. The effect of preceding crop on the amount of yield was statistically significant only in the year less favorable for production (2005), in favor of maize for silage.
