Survey study of Hybrid Clarias catfish feeds on-farm produced by farmers in 3 provinces in the central part of Thailand was conducted. A total of 22 feed samples were collected both in wet and dried form and were subjected for proximate chemical analysis. The collected feed samples could be grouped as wet feed, mix wet feed and mixed pellet feed according to their feeding form and processing techniques. The results have shown that moisture (percent), crude protein (percent), crude fiber (percent), ether extract (percent) and ash (percent) of the feed samples were as follows: wet feed -67.6+-18.79, 13.41+-7.44, 0.48+-1.31, 12.01+-6.34 and 4.99+-5.46 respectivelymixed wet feed - 63.72+-13.92, 19.11+-10.13, 2.42+-1.57, 10.33+-6.44 and 8.08+-4.36 respectivelyand mixed pellet feed -25.90+-17.68, 18.08+-6.31, 5.32+-0.87, 14.95+-10.65 and 10.96+-2.46 respectively. The data was compared to nutrient requirement of the fish recommended by authors. These results have indicated that majority of onfarm produced fish feed have inadequate nutrient content for Hybrid Clarias catfish. The wet and mixed wet feed contains high proportion of water which have caused the lower dry matter intake of the fish. The feeds had low water stability which has caused not only the rapid water pollution but also a higher feed cost due to the high portion of inconsumable feed. High variation of nutrient content in the feed sample especially wet feed and mixed wet feed was also found in the survey study. It is worth to note that the variation of nutrient content to the negative side may have caused the lower nutrient content that severely inadequate to the animal requirement. In general, the farmers do not have effective knowledge in aquaculture nutrition and on-farm aquaculture feed production.
