Mean effective inhibitory concentration (EC50) of CHCl3 and MeOH crude extract obtained from 23 tropical lichen species against mycelial growth of 4 important plant pathogenic fungi, Phytophthora palmivora causing root rot disease of Durian, Pythium dilliense causing root rot disease of hog plum, Rhizoctonia solani causing sheath blight disease of rice and Sclerotium rolfsii causing stem rot of mungbean were varied on lichen species and extraction method. However, there were three species of lichen crude extract obtained from Parmotrema tinctorum, Romboldia russula and Usnea baileyi which contain high quality of both polar and nonpolar secondary metabolic functioning as antifungal. The CHCl3 crude extract of U. baileyi was the most effective to inhibit all of 4 plant pathogenic fungi
