Selection, regeneration and identification of main techniques for intensive farming of some specialty pomelo varieties in Doan Hung -Phu Tho

Two years after application of improved cultivation protocols, the selected pomelo plants develop well (good canopy vigor, deep green leaves as of Bang Luan pomelo), giving stable yield. They serve as a good source to provide standard eyes for vegetative propagation of planting materials for establishment of pomelo production regions. Appropriate fertilizers' doses have been identified as followed: For Bang Luan pomelo at the 10 - 20 year age, the fertilizer combination number 3 (100 kg of farm yard manure + 5 kg of powder lime + Komix + 2 kg of Urea + 3.5 kg of super phosphate + 2.0 kg of potassium sulphate) is recommended for one plant; For Chi Dam pomelo at the 10 year age, the fertilizer combination number 4 (50 kg of farm yard manure + 2.5 kg of powder lime + Komix + 1.2 kg of Urea + 2.5 kg of super phosphate + 1.0 kg of potassium sulphate) is recommended for one plant. Regarding plant protection measures, 3 treatments have been tested, of which the regular spraying of pesticides and wrapping fruits proved to be the most effective in terms of fruit yield/plant, good fruit appearance and could be effectively applied to pomelo production regions.
