Nine prospective winter fodder barley lines developed in Hungary have been studied in the conditions of Southeastern Bulgarian at the Institute of agriculture, Karnobat. Three varieties which show the level of Bulgarian breeding in this direction were included in the investigation. Determined was the cold resistance and biometrical measurements of some productivity elements were done. Quality of the grain was studied according to the indexes hectoliter weight, 1000 grains weight and protein content. Hungarian lines K-99/223, K-99/20 and K-99/32 are with higher protein content respectively 12.72%, 11.88% and 11.63% and can be used like source for improving of grain quality.
