The experimental study was conducted during the 2006-2008 period in second expеrimental field of the Institute of Forage Crops, Pleven. The hybridization scheme including four varieties of spring forage pea Pisum sativum L., one Bulgarian variety Pleven 4 and three Ukrainian ones Rezonator and Harkovskii 74 intended for green mass and Intensivnyi 92 for grain production. Inheritance of quantitative traits was analyzed plant height, seed number per plant, pod number per plant, seed number per pod and seed weight per plant of parental components Р1 and Р2 and crosses of first and second hybrid generation F1 and F2 Heterosis effect in F1 hypothetical and true, degree of dominance in F1 hp1 and in F2 hp2 and variability VC % were determined for each studied trait. On the basis of variation and inheritance in the early F1 and F2 hybrid generations conclusions were drawn concerning the value of the used varieties and inheritance type of the analyzed traits. It was found that the crosses with fathers form Pleven 4 produce more higher true heterosis effect in comparison with reciprocal crosses at traits plant height, pod number per plant and seed weight per plant. The highest positive true heterosis effect was found in the cross of Rezonator x Pleven 4 136.56% for the trait of pod number per plant and the lowest one in Pleven 4 x Harkovskii 74 40.56% for seed number per pod. Low variability was found in F1 at plant height, middle in F2 of the same character and high at other analyzed traits.
