In the register of vegetation in the Vaud cantonal forestry data bank, the descriptive index of communities, such as the Galio-Fagetum beech forest with sweet woodruff, goes through all the criteria, those floral and those concerning the site, used to define and identify a community, together with possible subassociations or variants. It also defines the position of a community in relationship to neighbouring communities. A bibliographical review takes stock of the specificities of identification of groups in Vaud in correlation with the typologies found in specialized literature.
