Chinese.

Effects of nitric oxide (NO) donor, sodium nitroprusside(SNP), with different concentrations on lipid peroxodation in wheat seedling leaves under 10 % PEG-6000 osmotic stress were investigated through 3 d of treatment. The results indicated that low concentration of SNP (0.2 mmol/L) could apparently alleviate the osmotic stress-induced lipid peroxidation during the late period of treatment (after 2 day treatment), which consistent with the up-regulation of enzyme activities, such as SOD, POD and the content of proline;consistent with the down-regulation of O2. production speed and the content of MDA. Meanwhile, high concentration of SNP (1.0 mmol/L) suppressed the activities of SOD and POD enzymes and content of proline, enhanced the O2. production speed and the content of MDA.
