INFLUENCIA DE LA HUMEDAD, ALTURA Y CONTENIDO DE MATERIA ORGÁNICA DEL SUSTRATO DEL BOSQUE DE MANGLE EN LA OVIPOSICIÓN DE MOSQUITOS COSTEROS AL SUR DE PINAR DEL RÍO

En un bosque de mangle, perteneciente al sector La Coloma-Las Canas, al sur de la provincia de Pinar del Río, Cuba, se estudió la relación entre la presencia de cascarones de huevos y larvas de mosquitos costeros y la humedad del sustrato, altitud del sustrato, cantidad y origen de los detritus orgánicos. El estudio tuvo lugar durante el período lluvioso y el poco lluvioso durante el 2001. El objetivo del trabajo fue determinar cómo influye el ecosistema manglar en la oviposición de los mosquitos costeros, para lo cual se tuvieron en cuenta las larvas, los huevos y los cascarones en dos estratos diferentes. La presencia de larvas y de cascarones estuvo altamente determinada por el porcentaje de humedad del sustrato y por el contenido de hojas de R. mangle.

English. In a mangrove coast forest belonging to Las Canas in Pinar del Rio province, an experiment was carried out in a rainy and in a few rainy period, to determine the relationship between the presence of eggshells and larvae of mosquitoes and the following variables: moisture of the substrate, shell presence, height of the substratum, quantity and origin of the organic substratum. The aim of the experiment was to determine the ovipositional pattern of the coastal mosquitoes in that mangrove ecosystem; in that sense larvae, eggs and eggshells belonging to two different stratum were taken into account. The presence of larvae and eggshells were highly determined by the percentage of moisture of the substratum and by the leaves content of R. mangle.
